Call to Order#

Commissioner Walker called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Commissioner comments are the time for Board members to present verbal reports and suggest future agenda items.

None.

Consent Agenda Items#

All matters listed within the Consent Agenda have been distributed to each member of the Commission for reading and study. They are considered routine and will be enacted by one motion of the Commission with no separate discussion. If separate discussion is desired, an item may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda by a Commission member or by a citizen request.

• Meeting Minutes: Commissioner Walker moved to accept the minutes as submitted. Commissioner Abbott seconded. Unanimously approved.
• Accounting Summary Report — July/August 2026:
  • General Fund #88715: $11,233.53
  • General Fund Investment Account: $334,767.24
  • Total: $346,000.77
• Payables: None.

New Business Items#

• Poster at the Head of the Dock: Representatives of Indianola Good Neighbors and the Commissioners discussed the poster at the head of the dock. Commissioner Schmid proposed accepting the draft and covering the cost of $700.00 upon receipt of an invoice. Commissioner Abbott seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Abbott will look into the costs of updating the Port of Indianola board.
• Float Storage: Waiting to hear from J. Small regarding storage of the floats. The alternative of anchoring the floats in Miller Bay was discussed.
• Piling Project: The building permit has been submitted to the county. Better site plans are needed, and the engineer must sign off on the special inspection. Commissioner Schmid proposed having AAR perform the inspection and reimbursing Commissioner Walker if he pays by credit card. Commissioner Abbott seconded.
• Next Meeting: October 20, 2026.

Commissioner Schmid moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:35 PM. Commissioner Abbott seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
