Meeting Minutes of the Indianola Port District Board of Port Commissioners Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 7:00 PM Indianola Clubhouse, 19876 Indianola Road NE, Indianola, WA 98342

Call to Order#

Commissioner Walker called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM.

Commissioner Comments is the time for Board members to present verbal reports and suggest future agenda items. None

Consent Agenda Items#

All matters listed within the Consent Agenda have been distributed to each member of the Commission for reading and study. They are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion of the Commission with no separate discussion. If separate discussion is desired, that item may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda by a Commission member or by a Citizen Request.

• Meeting Minutes of the September 16, 2025 regular meeting – Commissioner Walker moved to accept minutes as submitted. Seconded by Commissioner Schmid. Unanimously approved.
• Accounting Summary Report – None
• Payables – None
• Guests: Cindy Abbott, Susan Henry

New Business Items#

• Piling Replacement Process – Commissioner Walker spoke with Aquatic Resources regarding pursuing a contract.
• Resignation – Motion by Commissioner Walker to accept Commissioner Henderson’s resignation; seconded by Commissioner Schmid. Approved.
• Port Auditor – PO Box keys and checks were given to Auditor Michael Buerger. Susan Henry and Michael will review paperwork for Port Auditor duties.
• Sign Committee – Commissioner Walker discussed sign wording for the head of the dock with a Tribal representative and will follow up.
• Email/Website Update – Commissioners Schmid and Buerger will check their Port email functionality and report back to Commissioner Walker.
• 2025 Levy Certification – Paperwork received from the County with estimated 2026 tax income. Question raised regarding maximum allowable increase; Commissioner Walker will follow up. Motion by Commissioner Walker to accept the Levy Certification; seconded by Commissioner Schmid. Approved.
• Non-Compensation Forms – Waivers signed by Commissioners Walker and Schmid for non-compensation through December 31, 2025.
• Port Commissioner Open Position – Commissioner Walker will post notice inviting District One residents interested in filling the vacancy to contact him or Commissioner Schmid. Posting duration: 15 days. Locations: Indianola Post Office, Indianola Store, Community Bulletin Board, and the Port website. Cindy Abbott expressed interest.
