Meeting Minutes of the Indianola Port District Board of Port Commissioners Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, at 7:00 PM Indianola Clubhouse, 19876 Indianola Road NE, Indianola, WA 98342

Call to Order#

Commissioner Henderson called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Commissioner Comments is the time for Board members to present verbal reports and suggest future agenda items. None

Consent Agenda Items#

All matters listed within the Consent Agenda have been distributed to each member of the Commission for reading and study. They are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion of the Commission with no separate discussion. If separate discussion is desired, that item may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda by a Commission member or by a Citizen Request.

• Meeting Minutes of October 29th, 2024, Regular Meeting – Commissioner Walker moved to accept minutes as submitted, seconded by Commissioner Henderson. Unanimously approved.
• Accounting Summary Report – Commissioner Henderson submitted as of November 19th, 2024. Net General Fund balance for October 2024: $133,187.69.
• Payables – Voucher 2159 – Enduris (Insurance) $11,650.04

New Business Items#

• Oath of Office – Ted Schmid sworn into office as Commissioner for Port of Indianola.
• 2025 Port Budget / Levy Certification – Numbers confirmed. Increase property taxes $1,069.00 (County Office).
  • Motion 24-25-01 by Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner Henderson. Approved.
  • Proposal 2025 Budget – Motion by Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner Schmid. Approved.
• Port Auditor Position – None
• Piling Replacement Process – Commissioner Walker has sent out bid proposals and spoken with Thompson Pile Driving, American Construction, Mason Construction, and Quigg Brothers. Unable to reach Pacific Pile and Marine due to full messages; follow-up pending. Work will continue on permits and RFP process.
• Piling Repair (Concrete) – West Timbercraft bid $3,000; Mark bid $3,400. Commissioner Henderson motioned to accept West Timbercraft bid, seconded by Commissioner Walker. Motion approved. Commissioner Walker to schedule repairs.
• Next Meeting – Tuesday, December 17th, 2024. If not necessary, the meeting may be postponed to January 2025.
