Meeting Minutes of the Indianola Port District Board of Port Commissioners Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 7:00 PM Indianola Pavilion, 18976 Indianola Road NE, Indianola, WA 98342

Call to Order#

Commissioner Henderson called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM.

Commissioner Comments#

Commissioner Comments is the time for Board members to present verbal reports and suggest future agenda items. None.

Consent Agenda Items#

All matters listed within the Consent Agenda have been distributed to each member of the Commission for reading and study, are considered to be routine, and will be enacted by one motion of the Commission with no separate discussion. If separate discussion is desired, that item may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda by a Commission member or by citizen request.

• Meeting Minutes of the August 17, 2021 regular meeting – Commissioner Walker moved to accept the minutes as submitted, second by Commissioner Cookson, passed unanimously.
• Accounting Summary Report submitted by Port Auditor Susan Henry:
  • As of September 21, 2021:
    • Net General Fund balance (not including project fund): $98,936.46
    • RCO Project Fund balance: $10,752.94
    • Project Fund Expense Balance: ($33,268.56)
  • The Project Fund is now being used to track the RCO Grant Match.
• Payables:
  • Voucher #2117: Puget Sound Energy – $60.00
  • Voucher #2118: Wally Frizzell Rentals (swim float storage through 12/31/21) – $200.00
  • Voucher #2119: Yardvark Services (landscaping under dock) – $381.50
  • Commissioner Henderson moved to accept the vouchers as submitted, Commissioner Walker seconded, passed unanimously.

Old Business Items#

New Business Items#

• Terry Reckord discussed progress to date on the Dock Entrance Upgrade:
  • Two contractors, registered with the Port of Indianola Small Works Roster, will bid on the dock project.
  • Construction specifications compiled by McLeod, Reckord, PLLC are complete.
  • Commissioner Henderson will forward construction specifications to contractors and request final bids be submitted NLT 10/18/2021.
  • Work is scheduled to commence after November 1, 2021 and finish within 50 calendar days.
• Discussion regarding viewing bench: to be completed by others; investigate ADA requirements.
• Commissioner Walker will determine what additional 2x6 lumber will be necessary to replace planking on the dock.
• The Port received a request to film a short documentary on or near the Indianola Dock. No objections; Commissioner Henderson will respond with approval.
• Next Port Commission Meeting will be held on October 26, 2021.
