Call to Order#

Commissioner Henderson called the meeting to order at 7:02 PM.

Commissioner Comments#

Commissioner Comments is the time for Board members to present verbal reports and suggest future agenda items. None

Consent Agenda Items#

All matters listed within the Consent Agenda have been distributed to each member of the Commission for reading and study, are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion of the Commission with no separate discussion. If separate discussion is desired, that item may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda by a Commission member or by Citizen Request.

• Meeting Minutes of the February 16, 2021 regular meeting – Commissioner Walker moved to accept the minutes as submitted, second by Commissioner Henderson, passed unanimously.

• Accounting Summary Report submitted by Port Auditor Susan Henry. Auditor Henry provided statement for March 16, 2021. POI continues to see minimal property tax income.

  • Net General Fund balance (not including project fund): $113,059.68
  • RCO Project Fund balance: $10,752.94
  • Project Fund Expense Balance: ($32,834.38)
  • As agreed in earlier meetings, the Project Fund is now being used to track the RCO Grant Match.

New Business Items#

• Annual Report – Port of Indianola Auditor Susan Henry has completed and submitted the Annual Report to the Washington State Auditor’s Office. Thank you Susan!
• Dock Entrance Upgrade – Anticipate Fall 2021 construction time. Bid package will need to be prepared and interested contractors will need to submit 2021 Small Works Roster application.
• Port Secretary – Henderson will submit a request for interest in Secretary position in the upcoming Indianola Breeze.
• Next Port Commission Meeting – April 20, 2021

Open to Public Comment#

Sarah Runnels inquired if the stairs adjacent to the Dock will be closed during the Dock Upgrade. The Port anticipates the stairs will remain open with periodic closures as necessary for public safety, but no long-term closure is anticipated.

Commissioner Walker moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:34 PM. Seconded by Commissioner Henderson, passed unanimously.
