Meeting Minutes of the Indianola Port District Board of Port Commissioners Tuesday, June 15, 2021 – 7:00 PM Indianola Pavilion, 18976 Indianola Road NE, Indianola, WA 98342

Call to Order#

Commissioner Henderson called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM.

Commissioner Comments#

Commissioner Comments is the time for Board members to present verbal reports and suggest future agenda items. None

Consent Agenda Items#

All matters listed within the Consent Agenda have been distributed to each member of the Commission for reading and study, are considered to be routine, and will be enacted by one motion of the Commission with no separate discussion. If separate discussion is desired, that item may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda by a Commission member or by Citizen Request.

• Meeting Minutes of the May 18, 2021 regular meeting – Commissioner Cookson moved to accept the minutes as submitted, second by Commissioner Walker, passed unanimously.
• Accounting Summary Report submitted by Port Auditor Susan Henry.
  • Auditor Henry provided statement for June 15, 2021.
  • POI continues to see property tax income.
  • As of June 15, 2021:
    • Net General Fund balance (not including project fund): $114,634.32
    • RCO Project Fund balance: $10,752.94
    • Project Fund Expense Balance: ($33,268.56)
  • As agreed in earlier meetings, the Project Fund is now being used to track the RCO Grant Match.
• Vouchers
  • Voucher #2114 in the amount of $128.35 to reimburse Commissioner Walker for purchase of paton batteries.
  • Voucher #2115 in the amount of $134.00 to USPS for 12-month rental of PO Box.
  • Commissioner Cookson moved to accept the vouchers as submitted, seconded by Commissioner Walker. Unanimous approval.

New Business Items#

• Doug Hayman and Craig Jacob Brown, representing the Indianola Good Neighbors group, addressed the Commissioners regarding signage on Port property and their desire to include some history of the Suquamish people.
  • The group has approached the Cultural Committee of Suquamish for input.
  • Commissioners discussed possible locations for any signage and suggested that following the Indianola dock construction project we could meet again.
• Commissioner Walker has replaced the batteries in the solar-powered patons.
• Dock entrance upgrade – Anticipate Fall 2021 construction time. Bid package will need to be prepared and interested contractors will need to submit a 2021 Small Works Roster application.
• Port Secretary – Suggestions??
• Next Port Commission Meeting will be held on August 17, 2021.

Commissioner Henderson motioned to adjourn at 8:04 PM, second by Commissioner Walker. Unanimous.
