Meeting Minutes of the Indianola Port District Board of Port Commissioners Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 7:00 PM Indianola Pavilion – 18976 Indianola Road NE, Indianola, WA 98342

Call to Order

Commissioner Henderson called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM.


Commissioner Comments

Commissioner Comments is the time for Board members to present verbal reports and suggest future agenda items. None.


All matters listed within the Consent Agenda have been distributed to each member of the Commission for reading and study, are considered routine, and will be enacted by one motion of the Commission with no separate discussion. If separate discussion is desired, that item may be removed and placed on the Regular Agenda by a Commission member or by Citizen Request.

  • Meeting Minutes (July 20, 2021 Regular Meeting): Commissioner Walker moved to accept the minutes as submitted. Seconded by Commissioner Henderson. Passed unanimously.

  • Accounting Summary Report: Submitted by Port Auditor Susan Henry for August 2021.

    • Net General Fund Balance (excluding project fund): $114,789.36
    • RCO Project Fund Balance: $10,752.94
    • Project Fund Expense Balance: ($33,268.56)
    • The Project Fund continues to track the RCO Grant Match.
  • Payables: Voucher #2116 payable to Enduris for annual insurance premium in the amount of $8,050.00. Commissioner Walker moved to accept the voucher as submitted. Seconded by Commissioner Henderson. Passed unanimously.

Auditor Henry advised that the Washington State Auditor’s Office will be performing an audit of the Port of Indianola for 2019–2020.


Old Business

None.


New Business

  • Dock Entrance Upgrade: Guest Terry Reckord provided progress updates.

    • Planter box to be planted by the Indianola Garden Club.
    • Bench may be purchased separately, potentially from a local craftsperson, and may need to be ADA-compliant regarding arms and height.
    • Estimated 6-week (42 working days) project duration.
    • Public access to the beach via dock stairs may require periodic closures; dock access will be closed during construction.
    • Electrical work must be completed prior to project start.
  • Port Secretary: No volunteers to date.

  • Next Meeting: Scheduled for October 19, 2021, with a possible alternate date to accommodate Auditor Henry’s availability.
