Meeting Minutes of the Indianola Port District Board of Port Commissioners Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 7:00 PM Indianola Clubhouse, 18976 Indianola Road NE, Indianola, WA 98342

Commissioners in Attendance: Jeff Henderson, John Lane Port Auditor: Susan Henry (reporting in absentia) Recording Secretary: Jayne Larson

Call to Order#

Commissioner Henderson called the meeting to order at 7:13 PM.

Commissioner Comments#

Commissioner Comments is the time for Board members to present verbal reports and suggest future agenda items. None.

Consent Agenda Items#

All matters listed within the Consent Agenda have been distributed to each member of the Commission for reading and study, are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion of the Commission with no separate discussion. If separate discussion is desired, that item may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda by a Commission member or by Citizen Request.

• Meeting Minutes of the April 24, 2018 regular meeting – Commissioner Henderson moved to accept the minutes as submitted. Second by Commissioner Lane, passed unanimously.
• Accounting Summary Report by Port Auditor Susan Henry.

Accounting Summary: Auditor Henry provided statement for April 2018. Significant income received from property taxes collected. As of April 30, 2018, Net General Fund balance after warrants paid, not including project fund, is $114,497.13. Project Fund Balance is $4,178.18.

Payables are held over until next month’s meeting.

New Business Items#

• Maintenance and Repair Permit Renewal: Commissioner Lane reports that progress has been made but permit has not been issued.
• Patons – Dock Lights and Protective Cages: Commissioner Henderson reports that dock lights are installed and operating. The Coast Guard has been advised and they’re pleased. In this challenging project, the Port of Indianola especially thanks Bob Kinnaird and Steve Vlahovich for their time, effort, and expertise.
• Grant Update and Worksheet: Commissioner Cookson is working on the worksheet received from RCO.
• Dock Entrance Upgrade Project: Commissioner Henderson notes that the project budget is $40,000.00 or less and will therefore not require the public bid process. Commissioner Lane will pursue the land ownership question with Kitsap County. Terry Reckord will proceed with drawings based on no public bid requirements. Commissioner Henderson will provide Terry Reckord with a copy of the grant application for reference.
• Dock Security: Commissioner Lane proposes that the Port contact Suquamish Police Department to find out about off-duty officers. The Commissioners will review the security policy.

The next Port Commission Meeting will be held on June 19, 2018.
