Meeting Minutes of the Indianola Port District Board of Port Commissioners Tuesday, January 16, 2018 – 7:00 PM Indianola Clubhouse, 18976 Indianola Road NE, Indianola, WA 98342

Call to Order#

Commissioner Henderson called the meeting to order at 7:07 PM.

Commissioner Comments#

Commissioner Comments is the time for Board members to present verbal reports and suggest future agenda items. None

Consent Agenda Items#

All matters listed within the Consent Agenda have been distributed to each member of the Commission for reading and study, are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion of the Commission with no separate discussion. If separate discussion is desired, that item may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda by a Commission member or by Citizen Request.

• Meeting Minutes of the November 14, 2017 regular meeting – Commissioner Henderson moved to accept the minutes as submitted. Second by Commissioner Cookson, passed unanimously.
• Accounting Summary Report by Port Auditor Susan Henry.
• Payables submitted for approval:
  • Voucher #2039 for WPPA dues, $300.00
  • Voucher #2040 for Yardvark landscaping service, $343.36

Commissioner Henderson made a motion to approve payment of vouchers presented. Seconded by Commissioner Cookson. Passed unanimously.

Accounting Summary: As of December 31, 2017, Net General Fund balance after warrants paid, not including project fund, is $88,296.96. Project Fund Balance is $4,178.18.

New Business Items#

• Oath of Office – Commissioner Henderson reads and signs the oath of office and is sworn in for a new 6-year term.
• Maintenance and Repair Permit Renewal – Commissioners Henderson and Cookson report that renewal paperwork has been done. Commissioner Henderson will ask Connie Reckord and Lisa Fitch for help with the SEPA and Corps paperwork for the permit.
• Patons (Private Aid to Navigation) – Dock Lights – Commissioner Lane will investigate a possible cage design to protect the dock lights.
• Maintenance and Repair Permit Renewal – Commissioner Cookson reports that renewal is in progress. He expects a response from the county this week. SEPA checklist needs to be reviewed. Current permit expires in March 2018.
• Update on Grant Submission – Commissioner Cookson reports that there is no update on the grant but it remains very unlikely that POI would receive funding.

Next Port Commission Meeting will be held on March 20, 2018.
