Meeting Minutes of the Indianola Port District Board of Port Commissioners Thursday, September 22, 2016 – 7:00 PM Indianola Clubhouse, 20446 Indianola Road NE, Indianola, WA 98342

Call to Order#

Commissioner Henderson called the meeting to order at 7:11 PM.

Commissioner Comments#

Commissioner Comments is the time for Board members to present verbal reports and suggest future agenda items. None.

Consent Agenda Items#

All matters listed within the Consent Agenda have been distributed to each member of the Commission for reading and study, are considered routine, and will be enacted by one motion of the Commission with no separate discussion. If separate discussion is desired, that item may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda by a Commission member or by Citizen Request.

• Meeting Minutes of the August 18, 2016 regular meeting – Commissioner Lane moved to accept the minutes as submitted. Second by Commissioner Cookson, passed unanimously.
• Accounting Summary Report by Port Auditor Susan Henry:
  • Net General Fund balance (not including project fund) is $76,153.15. Project Fund Balance is $3,641.88.

Payables for September 22, 2016:

• Vouchers totaling $336.30. Commissioner Henderson motioned to approve vouchers as presented. Seconded by Commissioner Lane, passed unanimously.

New Business Items#

Grant Update – Commissioner Cookson#

• RCO board ranked the Port of Indianola grant submission 23 of 23 based on points.
• Lowest population, no creosote piling removal, and no ADA parking accommodations contributed to ranking.
• RCO ALEA recommendations will be forwarded to the legislature for grant funding.
• This biennium, $12M was requested by various entities vs. $6M requested in the previous biennium.
• Commissioner Lane will follow up with Senator Rolfes regarding future grant applications.

2017 Port of Indianola Budget#

• 2016 expenditures reviewed and anticipated 2017 expenditures added to the preliminary 2017 budget.
• Required legal notices will be run for two consecutive weeks in the North Kitsap Herald, announcing finalization of the 2017 budget at the October 18, 2016 Port Commissioners meeting.

100 Year Indianola Dock Celebration#

• Thanks to Ann Lantz, Coleen Vlahovich and crew, Sarah Runnels, Karen & Bob Kinnaird and crew, Greg Mackie for sound equipment donation, North Kitsap Fire for their new marine firefighting vessel, and all volunteers who made the celebration a memorable community event.

• Scheduled for October 22, 2016, 7:00 PM at the Indianola Clubhouse.
