1. Call to Order#

Meeting called to order at 7:01 PM.

2. Candidate Interviews – Commission District 2 Vacancy#

• Two qualified candidates were in attendance:
  • Judith L. Frank
  • Gerald L. Richards
• Commissioners Wald and Henderson conducted interviews.

3. Executive Session#

• At 7:40 PM, Commissioners entered Executive Session to discuss candidate qualifications.
• Meeting reconvened at 8:05 PM.

4. Appointment#

• Commissioner Wald motioned to appoint Judith L. Frank to the District 2 vacancy for the remaining 2-year term.
• Commissioner Henderson seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
• Oath of Office administered to Judith L. Frank by Port Auditor Carol Tripp, notarized, and forwarded to Kitsap County Elections Division.

5. Mission Statement Adoption#

• Commissioner Henderson introduced Resolution 2012-04, adopting the Port of Indianola Mission Statement:

“In partnership with community–based organizations, the Port of Indianola will be responsive to the community, taking an active role in maintaining the community culture of Indianola, while expanding the Port facilities for educational, recreational, and cultural purposes, working toward minimizing environmental impact on the Puget Sound.”

• Resolution adopted, signed, and attested.

6. Dock Swim Float Update#

• Replacement seasonal swim float delayed due to grating shipment.
• Anticipated installation: week of July 9th or July 16th.
• Availability prior to Indianola Days (July 20–22) emphasized.

7. Dock Signage#

• Commissioner Wald contacted Sheryl Brandt (Enduris, Port Insurance Carrier) regarding dock jumping signage.
• Recommendation: Add an additional sign at the end of the dock, noting prohibition of jumping and that jumping is at one’s own risk.
• Email correspondence attached to minutes.

8. Website Updates#

• Lee Lannoye requested preferred Port Commissioner contact information for the website (www.portofindianola.com).
• Commissioners to provide contact information and meeting minutes in electronic format for upload.

9. Adjournment#

• Meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM.
